Day 5 and 6 - On Thursday we explored the little town of Flat Rock. There we shopped at the Wrinkled Egg, ate lunch at Hubba Bubba Smokehouse, and visited the home and grounds of the Pulitzer Prize winning author and poet Carl Sandburg. We didn't know much about him before we visited his farm but we came away with some new found interest in getting to know more about this man.
On Friday we did a beach day at Lake Lure. It was a beautiful lake nestled amongst the mountains. A perfect end to a vacation that we will cherish forever!
